The Varesina-Certosa district is located in the north-western area of the city of Milan, known as a strategical connection point between the city center and the area of the new Milanese Fair in Rho (Expo).
It’s a residential district considered one of the areas with the highest development rate in the city of Milan. One of the main reasons for this development is the proximity to Expo. In the last years thanks to the universal exposition, Certosa has registered high rates of activities related to the hospitality sector. Famous Hotel chains such as Barceló, Hilton (with the Doubletree brand), and Radisson have decided to invest in the area. Not only big names but also multiple small private “bed and breakfast” establishments started their operations in the same period.
Over the years, the industrial footprint of the area was abandoned, leaving room for the conversion of entire blocks and buildings into homes and offices.
